It’s true! We finally gave in to our kids (and staff)! The Hall family has a new puppy! Not a dog… A puppy. Anyone who’s brought a puppy home knows it can bring joy, laughter, exhaustion and a dirty house. We’ve now had Bogey for a little over a week and we are EXAHUSTED to say the least. It almost feels like bringing home a puppy is just like bringing a new baby home. More chores and sleepless nights. Then I didn’t think I would be this attached and love this little fur ball as much as I do. Especially since I was the one who needed the convincing to get a dog.
The girls in our office were laughing at us the first day he was home because of course we couldn’t leave him home alone. We were too attached already and felt bad for him. With that being said, he came to the office with us and slept under my husband’s desk while we worked. But of course the staff took turns taking care of Bogey. And by taking care of him, I mean they keep Bogey from running after my husband. It turns out that anywhere my husband goes, Bogey has to go too. I think this is the beginning of a great relationship between the two of them.
As we’ve started this journey it has definitely been a learning experience for all of us. Our kids are saying things like “Can I please stay home from school today or I need to be with Bogey,” or “more pee pee?” The kids are learning but were definitely not there yet. If this tells you anything, we woke up at 4:00 this morning to read one of our dog training books. There’s still so much to learn and understand about little puppies. But we wouldn’t have it any other way and love this new addition to not only our family but our work family!
