PRP for Hair Loss

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy for hair loss is a simple, three-step medical treatment in which a patient’s blood is drawn, processed, and then injected into the scalp.

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)?

Platelet-Rich Plasma is an autologous concentrated preparation of platelets and the associated growth factors in a small volume of plasma. Platelets are a natural source of a number of growth factors in their natural and biologically-determined ratios.

What do platelets do?

They release growth factors which regulate the healing cascade by signaling to surrounding cells to repair damaged tissue and regenerate new tissue.

The growth factors in PRP stimulate hair follicle activity, and PRP therapy is effective for treating hair loss in both men and women. Injected directly into the scalp, the growth factors in PRP will then signal hair follicles to remain in the growth phase longer, resulting in thicker, fuller hair.

Patients can resume most normal activity that day and price varies from person to person.
