Aftercare

  • Day 0: keep hands cool. Avoid sauna, hot yoga, and strenuous exercise.
  • Cleanse gently after each session and for 24–48 hours.
  • Hydrate: nourishing hand cream or bland moisturizer. Skip actives on hands (retinoids, AHA/BHA, scrubs) for 48–72 hours unless your provider advises otherwise.
  • Sun protection: SPF 30+ on hands daily, reapply after washing and when outdoors.
  • Nail services: schedule at least 24 hours away from sessions if possible.

Safety and contraindications

  • Photosensitizing medications or supplements may increase sensitivity (examples: isotretinoin, doxycycline, St. John’s wort). This list is not exhaustive.
  • Existing dermatitis flare or open cuts on hands: consult your provider.
  • Recent procedures on the area: your provider will advise on timing with other treatments.
  • Pregnancy or nursing: please consult your provider before proceeding.
