The Breast Reduction Procedure

The procedure can be used to alleviate pain associated with large breasts. There are three common types of incisions that may be used in the breast reduction procedure. They include a circular incision around the areola, a keyhole-shaped incision around the areola and a T-shaped incision. Liposuction could be used in conjunction with the incision to achieve the desired result. In addition, the nipple will be repositioned and the areola reduced for a more natural, balanced appearance. While incision lines are visible, they will fade dramatically in the coming months. Lollipop Breast Reduction/Lift

Excessive breast volume can occur in adolescence or later in life after childbirth. This can cause back/postural problems and unnecessary skin sagging.

A new reduction has been developed which lifts and reduces the breast without the dreaded horizontal incisions of the older “anchor” technique. This vertical reduction mammaplasty, unlike older techniques, repositions the nipple into a higher position and reduces volume with less scarring. The incisions are made around the entire outer circumference of the areola and down the lower centerline of the breast. This preserves the inframammary fold providing better long term breast definition, shape, and lift. The results are smaller, perky and more uplifted breasts without extensive scarring of traditional procedures.
