Fillers

Hyaluronic Acid Filler

Our bodies are marvels of chemistry and that chemistry can change over time. For example, over time, our skin can reduce its production of a naturally occurring hydrating-substance called hyaluronic acid. This loss of hydration results in wrinkles and noticeable facial lines, even when the face is at rest. Hyaluronic acid fillers can help rejuvenate the skin and diminish the appearance of wrinkles and lines in the face.

Is A Hyaluronic Acid Filler Right For You?

People with moderate to severe wrinkles around the nose, smile area (think of the parentheses marks that occur when smiling), and mouth have found significant improvement with hyaluronic acid fillers. The procedure is designed to take care of those deeper, always present wrinkles that are the tell-tale sign of aging. If you’re unhappy about facial wrinkles and folds that have occurred with aging, ask your doctor about hyaluronic acid filler options.

Individuals have several options in the hyaluronic acid filler category and the provider will be happy to help you determine the right option for you. During the procedure, the filler will be administered in a series of tiny injections into specific problems areas of the face, filling lines and wrinkles with small amounts of FDA-approved gel particles. The dermal filler can be injected in the doctor’s office in just a few minutes. The fillers are temporary and, over time, will be broken down and eliminated by the body.

Restylane:

Restylane will last about six months and has been used in over 1.4 million treatments in the U.S.

Restylane Lyft:

Introducing the first and only FDA-approved treatment to treat your face and hands. Restylane Lyft is used to add volume to your cheeks and hands for a natural-looking, fuller appearance.

Juvederm Ultra:

Juvederm Ultra is another formulation of hyaluronic acid, optimally formulated for versatility in contouring and volumizing wrinkles and folds.

Juvederm Ultra Plus:

Juvederm Ultra Plus is a more robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper wrinkles and folds. It is FDA approved to last for up to one year.

Juvederm Voluma XC:

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC injectable gel is the first filler that’s FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area. This volumizing filler gives you a subtle cheek lift, helping to restore contour and give a more youthful profile that lasts up to 2 years.

  • First and only Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area
  • Clinically proven to last up to 2 years with optimal treatment
  • Can resume normal activities in 24 hours after treatment

One of the early signs of aging is volume loss in the cheek area which results in sagging skin and hollowing that increases slowly over time. Unique to Voluma is that it can last for two years – a longevity that’s unique for a hyaluronic acid filler—and something that makes it particularly appealing to patients. Voluma gel contains lidocaine to decrease discomfort and is meant to be injected at a deep level, on top of the cheekbones. Side effects observed in the clinical trial included mild to moderate tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps, and bumps, bruising, pain, redness, discoloration, and itching that lasted for seven days or less.

Belotero

How It Works

Belotero Balance is a dermal filler as unique as you are. It is specially designed to integrate into your skin and mold to your distinct facial contours. By adapting to the individuality of your skin, it softens lines and wrinkles around the nose, eyes, and mouth for smooth and natural results that are unique to you.

WhileBelotero Balance is made of the same material (hyaluronic acid) as some other dermal fillers, Belotero Balance has unique properties that allow it to adapt within the skin for soft and even correction. The versatility of the product makes it strong enough to handle deep treatment areas such as nasolabial folds (smile lines around the mouth), yet very soft enough to treat more delicate areas such as vertical lip lines (thin lines that appear above the lip line).

Belotero Balance Dermal Filler is made of a material called hyaluronic acid or HA. HA naturally exists as a component of your skin. By binding HA to water, it fills in wrinkles and folds, providing an immediate and smooth correction. Individual results may vary, but Belotero Balance may last 6 months or more.

Just like any injection, you may experience mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. These side effects are temporary and typically resolve on their own.

Sculptra

Austin is a city of smiling faces—are you getting the most out of yours? Facial fullness can contribute to a healthier, more youthful appearance. When the face begins to lose some of the volumes that contribute to its natural shape and appeal, measures can be taken to restore that fuller appearance. For some individuals, that means getting to know Sculptra Aesthetic.

Sculptra Aesthetic is used for enhancing volume and improving facial contours. Sculptra Aesthetic works differently than other injectables such as BOTOX, collagen, and Restylane. Sculptra Aesthetic stimulates your body’s own production of new collagen in the skin for a natural look. For years, knowledgeable physicians have been using Sculptra Aesthetic “off label” for cosmetic purposes. Patients now have added assurance that their treatments carry the seal of approval from the FDA.

Sculptra Aesthetic adds visible volume to the skin over time that can last more than two years! No surgery and no fuss – Sculptra Aesthetic gives you a natural, long-lasting look without any downtime.

Sculptra Aesthetic can be used in a variety of different areas including:

  • Temples
  • Cheeks
  • Nasal Labial Folds
  • Along the Jaw Line

Is Sculptra Aesthetic Right For You?

Scultpra, a synthetic injectable, is a strong choice for people with lipoatrophy, a loss of fat beneath the skin resulting in sunken cheeks, hollow eyes, and facial indentations. While various factors can contribute to lipoatrophy, FDA-approved Sculptra Aesthetic can provide satisfying, natural-looking results in those cases where illness or time has robbed the face of its natural fullness. Sculptra Aesthetic should not be used by individuals who have an active skin infection or anyone who has experienced an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients in Sculptra Aesthetic.

Sculptra Aesthetic is also the ideal treatment for patients on the go. If you don’t have the time or the budget for surgery, consider the natural long-lasting results of Sculptra Aesthetic. Improvement in contours occurs gradually over two to six months for an enhancement that appears effortless. Sculptra Aesthetic can be combined with other treatments including BOTOX, Radiesse, etc. for added results and can potentially replace surgery for some patients.

Sculptra Aesthetic Procedure

Sculptra Aesthetic is a biocompatible, biodegradable material called poly-L-lactic acid used for years in dissolvable stitches and certain types of implants. Sculptra Aesthetic is administered in the doctor’s office using a series of small injections with a very fine needle. Several treatments will be required depending on the severity of fatty tissue loss and the desired results. Consult with the doctor about the need for a topical or local anesthetic to diminish any discomfort from the injections. Injections will begin after make-up is removed and the area is cleaned with an antiseptic. Following the injections, the area will be thoroughly massaged to ensure even distribution of the filler and an ice pack will be applied to reduce swelling.

Hall Plastic Surgery and Rejuvenation MedSpa has been using Sculptra Aesthetic for many years and has found the results to be highly effective in creating natural fullness to the appearance of aging skin.
