Skin Care Awareness

Did you know that May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month? I can’t express the importance of proper skincare all year round. The number one thing I talk to all patients about, is using medical grade sunscreen and Vitamin C. I have attached an article that shows you have 8% more coverage if you are using your Vitamin C along with your sunscreen. Skin cancer is one of the most common types of cancer and most are caused by the sun’s UVA and UVB rays. Using medical grade products to protect your skin will decrease the risk of skin cancer. In our office we carry a wide selection of medical grade protectors.

I was recently introduced to a non-profit organization that educates the public on the prevention of skin cancer.  This past week we attended their largest fundraiser of the year, The Down and Derby. This fundraiser raises money for shaded areas to be built over public play grounds, pools, parks, and campuses.  They also fund free cancer screenings all over town and we are proud to say they will be in our office on July 19th to do screenings. Dr. Hall and I are very excited about this project and the work they do for our community
